Fitzsimons Redmond LLP is a small firm with a long history. We provide personal attention, expert legal advice and cost-effective service that you and your business can rely on.

We know that all our clients have different requirements of us; our business clients value efficiency and straight talking. If you run a business, you are faced with many legal and regulatory challenges; with a strong commercial law background, we offer swift guidance to clients who need to act decisively. Whereas our clients who are experiencing family break-up, a dispute, or a difficulty at work may need a sympathetic ear alongside legal advice, and those buying their first home or making plans for after their death, may require explanations of the processes involved. Our vast experience, and broad practice gives us the skills needed to recognise and meet the differing needs of all of our valued clients.

We have been advising clients for over 50 years, since 1968 when Michael Fitzsimons took over the practice of George Colley on his being appointed a Government Minister. Michael built the practice steadily as Michael Fitzsimons  & Co, and gained prominence, particularly representing a number of insurance companies in defence litigation. Throughout the 1980s, the practice developed its commercial and property reputation, practicing as Fitzsimons Smyth & Company, with Noel Smyth and later, as Fitzsimons Briger & Company, when it was affiliated to the international law firm, Briger & Company.

John Redmond joined the firm in 1980 and became a partner in 1984 when the firm began to practice as Fitzsimons Briger &  Company. In 1995 the firm became known as Fitzsimons Redmond. In 2010 Michael Fitzsimons retired from the firm and John Redmond continued as principal.

In 2021, Lisa Quinn O’Flaherty became the firm’s first female partner. She and John Redmond work together to deliver the high standard of legal services that our clients have come to expect over the past 50 years.

On 20th December 2021, we began operating as a limited legal partnership and became known as Fitzsimons Redmond LLP. In 2023, we were winners of the Law Firm Innovation Award at the Irish Law Awards.

We have always focused on both personal and commercial clients, being particularly recognised in the commercial property sector.  Having first gained prominence in personal injury defence work, the firm also enjoys a strong reputation representing claimants in commercial property, employment, family, company and commercial law, judicial review and fair procedure cases. We look after clients from the purchase of their first home and through the challenges of running their business.

We are a small firm with vast expertise and experience; we offer the personal attention that bigger firms struggle to deliver. Our aim to is be your trusted advisers for all your legal needs.
